ActiveRain Sets A New Network and Community Record

While I was away this week at Inman Real Estate Connect, Jon informed me that our members broke and set a new Community Record. We have seen so many great thresholds crossed this year. The first was having our One millionth Blog post by Brandon Farmer. Then we reached the 2 million plus monthly visitors mark to ActiveRain. Next was the most homes searched on AR at over 100,000 in a single month. This week we hit an outstanding Blog post record. On Monday, there were 1755 Blogs posts submitted and posted on ActiveRain. This is the largest number of posts recorded on AR in a single day. He said that we also had another 1700+ day later in the week.
This is an incredible achievement from our members and community.
It's truly been a privilege watching and witnessing our community grow like this. I'd be remiss if I didn't take a moment to say thanks and congratulate all of you who posted on Monday and also to those who post here on a consistent and regularly basis. It's the members like you that make this site the most informative and most valuable Real Estate and information Network and resource in the world. Records were made to be broken. I am in awe at how many have broken so far this year. Congrats to everyone for an outstanding week. I hope you'll continue to grow and benefit from all your efforts here in the "Rain!"
Now go have an awesome weekend, you certainly deserve it! :-)
1755 Posts in a Single Day

Brad, Thank you so much for sharing this...I didn't know any of these woderful record breaking events by AR. I'm proud to be among so many amazing people here.
Brad- That was 2 for me on Monday, hee hee:) So I guess I did my part. Congratulations to Active Rain and to all the members who made it happen also. Katerina
Thanks for sharing this. Great to see that this is an active community.
Brad - I noticed that there has been an awful lot of posts lately. How cool is that? What a great resource AR is!
Hi Brad..That's a New Ceiling for Sure, I know I posted several this week, 1755 Posts... it'll take a while to read those posts. No Question about it... AR Rocks !
thanks, Brad, your posts and all the other fine folks on AR have been an ecouragement to me.
It's amazing how fast Activerain has grown since I've been here. I'm just lucky to be here!
On Monday, there were 1755 Blogs posts submitted and posted on ActiveRain.
AHA!!! That explains it. I haven't been able to keep up with everything lately. I thought I was slowing down but obviously ActiveRain is speeding up. :)
Wow that is amazing. That shows a lot dedication from your members especially since creating blog posts does take thought and time. Congrats guys!
Brad - Thanks for sharing this information. Congratulations to Active Rain and I'm proud to be a member of this active community.
1,755....Amazing numbers! I contributed this week....proud to be here!
It is always great to reach these milestones- I am happy to be a part of it.
Fantastic numbers Brad....thanks to you and the Active Rain staff, this is a fantastic place to learn and find new friends on a daily basis!
I'm blaming part of this on Bob Stewart and his Local Business challenge for members to write Hyper Local content for their AR and Outside Blogs. Seriously, this is an amazing milestone. Each and every member should be proud to be part of this. It's No wonder the news media and Real Estate reporters are starting to camp out here. Where else can you get this much Real Estate related information in a single day?
Brad - That's awesome! Active Rain is just growing by leaps and bounds.
You said "It's members like you" that make this site - well it's staff like you - (& all at Activerain) that make it worthwhile also. I remember when I ran across the name (before it meant anything) and joined because it was a free link and heard it's good to have linking on a website. Little did I know what a difference it would make - and continues. . . Thanks for taking the time to acknowledge our participation in making it happen as well.
I just found out that our total members posts for the week was 6661 as of our last report.
That has to be a record week in the rain as well! WOW! :-O
Congratulations on the new record(s)... I guess all the contests going on right now, are really helping to increase the numbers.
You beat me to it! I was going to blame BOB! with his hyper local challenges! :) ~Rita
Brad - Great info! Thanks! I appreciate the everything you bring to us! It'a always a pleasure to rea your posts!
The hyper local challenge was fun, No you got us hooked, what is next ?
Funny what dangling 1000 points in front of a Rainer can do! I say keep up the challenges- they are certainly motivating me to post more often!
I have a feeling Brad that by the end of September we will have a 2,000 post day! Thanks everyone for all your awesome stuff! I have loved reading it all!
That certainly is an impressive list of impressive numbers. My favorite AR number is 2. As in I closed 2 deals this week for clients who found me through AR. So, thank-you Brad and everyone else on the AR staff.
I'll take the blame, I have broad shoulders :-)
Brad I hope you're not expecting us to read all 1755 posts from that one day! No? Whew! Great job by all the Rainers.
Brad, although the buzz and visibility from RE BAR camp and Inman Connect could have been factors, I think the foundation is the growing strength of the brand and the value of blogging for lead generation.
Yeah...blame it all on bob :) Thank to you all for making this a wonderful place to create wonderful posts for the consumer and the community.
Congrats on the milestone AR Team and Rainers. That's more than a post a minute!
And if just 10% of those posts were for the local business challenge, that means that over 530,000 points were earned -- maybe our first half million point day.
Brad, I had not written a blog post for a whole year, except for a recent revision and Monday was my first post since then, so to read that "we" broke a record Monday was so cool! Thanks for all you do to support this great community.
Brad, you sound surprised at how great our members like to gab :)
All great teams will go to the top-even to Search Engines. Thanks for sharing the stats. It is great to be part of a winning team. Thanks
Brad: Awesome stat... thanks for sharing. Y'all are getting a new mojo going and it's having a great influence on the community.
well that's great news. thanks for posting this info. We've heard a few people claim that Active Rain has been in a state of decline lately. I certainly disagree and this proves that our community is stronger than ever.
Impressive numbers...we are living the phenomenon...it IS amazing! I feel so motivated and proud to know so many wonderful people here, (although I've gotten behind on contributions lately, with all the activitiy of my daughter's upcoming wedding) Thanks for all the wonderful reporting from INMAN and always re ActiveRain! Cheers!
Congrats you guys. Great marketing.
The localism posts have invaded the SEO this week. I have played with keywords and I keep seeing AR on top for many areas. Many left to capitalize on as well.
We owe you and Bob big time for the hyper-local results we're enjoying. I had a sit-down with my first AR-originated client yesterday. Woo-hoo!
Now I know how I manage to miss good posts... just too many of them to read.
I wonder if I wrote a post that day? Anyway, I better post one today...
Incredible, Bob!
Over the years, your hard work has really paid off - and we have an incredible community of RE Practitioners here.
When I post, I am amazed at the number of far-flung, thooughtful responses I receive.
Welcome back - and thanks for keeping things cutting edge!
DEAN & DEAN'S TEAM CHICAGO
Those points man.. .it's amazing how we all are programmed to get a "STICKER" if we do a good job since Kindergarten. . This is what I call the "Kindergarten Syndrome" everyone has it . .some more than others
Wow...one more reason to keep your umbrella upside down to catch all the great information to help everyone in every way on every day !
I've been hearing from the "techy people" in my market that ActiveRain is declining....
Brad, I have loved the Google juice results I'm getting from my blogs posts. Many thanks to AR and the members who are helping us to get exposure and good exposure on the internet. AR rocks!
Oh, I only posted one on Monday. If I knew, I would have written another and we could have had 1756!
Thanks for sharing the success story of ActiveRain. We continue to receive prospect calls from our localisms. ActiveRain is one of our best marketing tools.
It's great to be part of the community. thanks for having us.
Oh boy, I love success and had a featured post on Monday. I have a listing appointment today...yep found me through....you guessed!
Brad, you'll have to go away more often.
Very cool Brad. And to think I used to be able to read EVERY post every day!!! Of course there were only about 10-20 a day at one time. This place sure has grown from the early days.
Brad, quite an achievement for ActiveRain. This is one community that works!
Brad...
Whew, I feel like I wrote 500 of them and I'm tired! This is great news for AR and all of us in the community!
It is quite incredible how big ActiveRain has become. Congratulations !
Hi, Brad. I am new to Active Rain. I started blogging simply because I wanted to accrue points but that quickly turned into something else. I have learned so much so fast that I would want tolog in every day to read posts and comment, if points were not awarded! I am awed by the knowledge and expertise that is so freely offered and grateful that I have the opportunity to belong and to participate. THANKS!
I'm with Jeremy - 2000 a day by September. I am hearing more and more about ActiveRain and blogging in general than I did a year ago. More people are starting to join in and see the potential.
I am surprised given it is summer time and many are doing other things. Looks like the Fall will break more records!
Hi Brad,
Your informative posts are helping me with my blog. Thank you for being a good on-line instructor! It's wonderful to hit these records. Are the majority of posts going to outside blogs?
Great results Brad! Wow - it's a lot of collective efforts and good guidance. Looking forward to more records to break!
This is great news. Now, if we can only get over 10% of our members to post in a day...let's see...that would be 15,000+ posts...
Brad - wonder what the next milestone will be? # of posts in position #1 on Google? I helped a litte - 2 posts. LOL
Jeff
Hi Brad. I am not surprised.
Are the majority of posts going to outside blogs?
Marcy - great question. I am assuming that those members who have outside blogs here are posting to them. I don't have a breakdown of those numbers but it would only make sense that the majority would be posting there. :-)
WOW! Good thing I don't try to comment on EVERY new blog every day! Have a great weekend!
Brad - This is very cool stuff. I tried really hard to crank out more posts that day, but I could only get 1500 done. Big thanks to the other members for their 255 posts. :)
Wow we are so glad to be a part of this great community, we did one on the record setting day! Don't know how long it is going to take to read all of those posts!
Brad, that is an amazing number of posts by authors who are not even being paid in one day. It is a great symbiotic relationship between the authors and the platform that provides them the venue.
Brad: I'm so glad to be a part of this community. Thanks for sharing that great news. I think we can top 1755, and I'm sure we will very soon.
Those google crawlers must be awfully busy on here! :)
Brad It is very obvious more and more agents are beginning to "see the light" Karen
Brad - this is awesome and I know I have been posting a lot lately even though this has been a busy summer for us. Vacations? Whats that... lol Will be looking at the fall for that at this point... Very cool and good luck to all of us. The site continues to grow. Cool!
This is awesome Brad! Like Broker Bryant I used to read every single post every day for my first 5 or 6 months and then it started getting out of hand! What's incoming traffic looking like? Record breaking I am sure!
Totally awesome is all I can say Brad. As a newbie I'm sooo impressed!! Looks like my timing is great to be a part of this now. Lucky me...
BTW, I also started up on Twitter and am following you there too. Don't want to miss anything do I?
Brad, we second it, it is Bob's fault. We had to give up TV to keep up with his exercises.
That's terrific news -- things just keep on getting better and better don't they.
Holy moly ! That is a lot of blog posts !!!! It is great to be part of such an awesome community and network !
I think your biz model is brilliant to develop a platform that benefits the members who are also incented to insure the success of AR. Way to go - and let's keep setting records!
I am only sorry that I did not get actively involved with Active Rain when I first signed up a year ago.
Those are a lot of posts in one day; I can only imagine your total database of posts....
Brad, what other site gets this many consistent visitors on a daily basis! Congrats to ALL of us!!! But, please don't ask us to read ALL of the 1700+ posts a day.
I think because we have all done SUCH a good job - you should just go ahead and give us all some extra points just because ......!!!! What do you think??
Amazing the Activity the Active Rain generates... pretty impressive! Way to go... and yeah I think the Hyperlocal thingy was definitely a motivational factor....
that is great! Congrats to you guys and also all of us!
Brad,
This is good news, and I haven't even taken up Bob on his challenge. But, I do have some ideas.
Brian
Brad,
Wow! That is like a post written every 49 seconds!!! Congrats on the record day and record week. Those are great achievements! I have no doubt that the AR team and community will manage to get a record month and a record year too!
It is really incredible that some one has 1million points. And it has been really fun to watch this grow and increase in value
Charlie - just for the record, no one has hit the million points mark just yet, but it's coming. The paragraph in this post reflected on the 1 millionth Blog Post by Brandon Farmer. However, we do have a member approaching the 1,000,000 points mark. It is Todd Clark and his current score as of this comment is 758,669 Points.
He is likely to be the first member to hit One Million points on ActiveRain. He is closely followed by one of our other very well known and popular members, Lenn Harley with 743,656 points. It will be interesting to see who hits it first. I'm not making any bets on this one. lol~ :-)
That's awesome! I'm glad to be part of it. The hyper local blog challenge helps too. :)
Brad,
Thank you for sharing this amazing achievement! I love the people here on A/R they are always willing to offer help and support. Kudos also to all the A/R Staff who have nurtured this community.
Best wishes
Sharon
I am actually surprised the number is that low? I would have assumed the record would be much higher in one day here on AR. I think its awesome to see the numbers continue to increase. Although surpised the number was not higher, I still congratulate all of the AR members and staff on another peak for AR.
I didn't help break the record but want to congratulate everyone at Active Rain for phenomenal success.
It does appear that this blogging thing isn't just a flash-in-the-pan, huh? (Not for me, either!)
Brad I sat next to you at REBar Camp but didn't notice it was you 'til you were getting up to photograph some stuff. Sorry I didn't get a chance to visit with you!!
Brad,
That is excellent news! You know I just wish we could somehow reach out to those invisible members that come in create a profile (half way) and then don't actually stick around for the actual fun and benefits that come from being an actual active member. I have some in my own office that I have preached to time and time again. Maybe when Jason's book comes out it will shake them out from under the umbrella's they are standing under instead of coming and playing in the RAIN!
Well done everyone! Keep up the great work!
Brad: Just goes to show that others are starting to take notice.. Active Rain is doing great !
BTW.. any updates on your poll several months back about how many will be on AR be a certain date ? I will have to go look for that post.
We should start a contest to determine where it will be at the end of the year. I love to see the growth and I bet you love it even more! Congrats!
Thanks to all of you at Active Rain who have given the members the opportunity to be part of this great network.
Wow! Congratulations to Active Rain and congratulations to those of us who are addicted to blogging here. The more we blog, the more we will dominate google and the more people will turn to Active Rain for their real estate related answers.
I feel so honored to b a part of the new records! Congrats to Active Rain and truly all of us!
I knew it was big, but that BIG... WOW
Bob's challenge has me (and apparently others) geared up for more frequent posts. As a side note to the local business challenge, watching posts show up on such a variety of non-realty search terms could offer new potential.
That is cool that Activerain has done in one day what has taken me two and a half years of nerve racking, finger bleeding to do. I GIVE UP! (LOL)

I would have thought the number would be a couple times that... We need to set some more records...
That's an amazing number of blogs for a single day. The downside is that our blogs go "over the horizon" of most recent blogs even more quickly!
I just averaged out the numbers for May, June, and July. We averaged 1232 posts per day, but that number is definitely increasing as our membership grows and as members realize that writing hyper local content often gets them great results.
I imagine that by September, we will be averaging a couple thousand posts per day.
Some great stuff is gonna be happening here over the next few weeks, keep your ears and eyes open and better fasten those seatbelts! :-O
@Roland - I'll have to dig up that poll, I think it was a membership goal, but that one passed long ago...
I just read this on someone elses post and they broke down the numbers and when you think about it like that, it really doesn't seem all that impressive.
But, those who get it will continue to post and those who don't will continue doing what they are doing.
