Thanks Duane - I think it would be cool to add the "LIKE" button to the comments on AR too!  The number in the lower right corner of each comment is an actual link and unique URL back to that specific comment so I don't see why we couldn't in the future.   Hmmm....

This is great, Brad! Now we don't have to manually add the Like button to our posts! Just one more way that AR thinks proactively about their members! WOOT!!

Hi Brad ~ Cool, yesterday I read Bill's post and just a day later AR is on board. Checked how it looks in the different browsers. In Firefox it seems to squish up the tltle, keywords etc and looks a little odd. (Like your screenshot) In Explorer the like button is directly below the post and keywords, title and so on are below that. It looks much better and not at all squished. Of course this is totally irrelevant. I'm sure your guys know that already.

What I'd really like FB to figure out is how to like something and have it show up on my business page. Seems everything is wired to the personal profile and I don't want everything showing up there.

I was just about to try to go through Bill Gassett's instructions and now don't have to. But I will go and "like" his blog.

"Love" button...that would be cool as well!! I also really like this idea and I have just give it a thumbs up as well it should be showing up on my Facebook account. Very cool Brad.

I just noticed that when I "like" something, my personal picture shows up and not my business page picture. Is there anyway around that? I searched but have found nothing about that.

Peggy - right now the like button is setup to show on your FB page, not business page.  You can take it from your personal page and then share it on your Business page I'm sure, but in order for us to set that up, it would probably be impossible since so many members have different Busness pages and in many cases, multiple Business pages. They all are built and created from your FB profile page, so that's where the "Like" is landing, at least for now.  :-)

Brad this is wayyyyyyyyyyyy to cool.. it is amazing almost on my 3 year anniversary with A/R how far we have gone ... wow I love it !... thank you for all A/R does for it's members.

Jason - great point, and we thought of that...   lol~  If you decide you "Don't Like" a page and you accidentally clicked on the "Like" button, just click it again, and you no longer "Like" it, your picture will be removed.  That's as close as I can get you to a "Don't Like" option! :-)

Brad - I have to agree with Wendy and I must add since we blog for business would it interfere with Facebook guidelines?  Is there a way to link to our Facebook fan page?

Brad - I' LIKE to see the button added automatically, rather than having to add it myself each time. Every little bit helps.

Well Sir, What can I say. 3 or 4 days ago, it was write the post, be sure to add the photo, submit as draft post, copy the URL, fill in the Facebook code box, get the code , open the draft, change to html, add the code, , be sure to make public, and submit. And you thought I didn't know how, LOL. Missy sees it , I start to write the tutorial post, before I can even get the like button inserted, Bill Gassett, inspired by seeing the LIKE button in my posts the last couple days, uploads his Like tutorial post. I re-blog and within 8 hours, Like is now a standard feature. AR is a NON bureaucratic institution. Got a good idea? -Implement it before we go home today. AMAZING and so appreciated.

Nice integration to expand our online reach. Now that we have 'Like' can a 'Tweet This' button be far behind?

You have no idea how much you and everyone at AR are appreciated.  There are so many things that I have on my "to do" list relating to social media, websites, etc.  When you guys do something like this for us, it's a breath of fresh air... nothing to go on my "to do"  list, it's done for me. 

Again, AR is the whipped cream on my coffee!

I saw this first on Dagny's blog Brad; very cool.  I just learned about the importance of 1-way linking at Rain Camp and here is an example of the designers at Active Rain giving us another avenue to accomplish that - Brilliant!

Brad - I like the new like button feature ActiveRain added.  This is going to increase the popularity of the ActiveRain platform even more.

Does is it LIKE to your Profile Page or to your "Fan" Business Page? I prefer to have folks like my Fan Page... My profile page is reserved for social commentary not business related subjects unless of course some automated post sends my blog or business comments to my Profile... This happens with some frequency and I am trying to control it... Many thanks Heather

I don't like it I LOVE it!!!! One question though (of course). I wrote a post yesterday after this was announced and I "liked" my post along with 2 other people but the only thing that showed up on FB was that I liked it. If others are liking it, shouldn't that show up on FB as well? Or do I have the wrong idea?

Oh and the pics were not there of the other 2 people who liked it. Thanks.

OK I guess I'm the person to not really 'get' this. My posts already go to FB via Twitter. My friends can read them but not comment on them if they're not a member of AR. Does this change anything about that previous sentence?

Barb - the purpose of the "Like" button is not for you to "Like" and promote your posts (although you can) it's for other members and guests who like it, and want to share it on their Facebook wall. 

To All who'd like their "Likes" to show on other than your personal FB Wall:

The option to have posts that you find and like posted to your "Fan" or "Business Pages" is something that would have to be changed and setup by the Facebook Developers.  The ActiveRain "Like" button is really no different than the "Like" buttons you see everywhere else all over the web.  Until they make that option available, we have no control over it.  Hope that makes sense.   :-)

Thanks Brad. I had seen the LIKE button and thought they were pretty worthless in the past. I would think to myself, "Really, did they just click LIKE because they didn't have enough time or thought to comment?!" To me, it was kinda like holding up the "thumbs up" signal from across the room.

Brad,  Can you add a Facebook "Like" widget to your outside blog, so that people liking your blog can also "like" your business page without having to actually link to your business page?  Facebook allows for this, but I cannot get the "like box" iframe to work on the outside blog widget area. 

Vickie - without the ability to add HTML to an outside Blog, most widgets and codes will not work on AR outside blogs.  Hopefully the new staff will see that the HTML widget gets added so many of these features can be used on the outside Blogs.
