It's Never Too Late to Turn Things Around - Always Give Your Best!
Today I received a support ticket from a Non-Member of Activerain. This person was signed in as a guest and took the time to submit the following ticket to our support center. Now I have to admit, I have seen some real doozies come in before, some I wouldn't dare make public, but this one deserves to be shared and discussed.

Have you ever had someone complain about you or your service? Did they go out of their way to let the world know that you provided bad service or that you let them down or failed to meet their desired expectations? With sites like Twitter, Facebook, and other Social Media platforms out there, consumers and YOU now have a voice and can be heard. It's easy for a negative message to go out about you, your product, or even your service.
ActiveRain and the blogging platform here is no different. This was the ticket and request I just responded to:

When I received this ticket today, it took me by surprise. Here is a person who left a comment on a members Blog post, the member just left it there, then the person came back 8 months later and wanted to leave a positive comment, redeem themselves, and have the previous comment removed. WOW! I was totally impressed. Not only with the request, but with the member who must have really done something right to turn this person around. Thank you Ruby, and WAY TO GO Angeline Sackett!

This member turned things around! Well done I say! We should always give and do our very best!

Sort of restores your faith in people, doesn't it?
Brad,
It's always good to hear that there are still people out there willing to go to that extent to correct an error, even an older one like hers. Thanks for the post.
Hi Brad! I can't believe this is your first request for this--but, you're right, it does restore your faith in humanity, doesn't it?!
Also, great response--as per the 'typical' Brad--above and beyond! Thank YOU for being such a wonderfu ambassador for our community.
It is nice to hear of people with real ability to correct their wrongs.
That is great!!! Always nice to see when someone acknowledges the positive. It's also very refreshing that this person gave Angeline a second chance. Thanks for sharing this positive story. Sometimes it's just a misconception and people can infer things the wrong way or take the message we are sending the wrong way than what was intended.
I'm impressed that they remembered they left the comment 8 months ago and even where they left it.

Hmm...great observation Todd. I don't know where I left my comments YESTERDAY muchless 8 months ago! LOL
They say "selling" does not begin until there is an objection.
Brad you make me proud to be a member of AR. Think I will give Angeline a call later today!
Margaret
Brad, you are right, it is never too late is it? Great reminder to all of us, in all walks of life.
Brad, this makes us all proud. Now, I wish Angeline could come to work at my brokerage. I'm on my way over to her to comment on her ability and congratulate her. Thanks for a very positive post!
Brad, deep down the non-member must have not felt good about leaving that comment months ago and it was great that she gave the member another chance to work things through...we live in the immediate age & here's one for the books that said wait a minute was right...haunted her..nice request to post.
Brad that is cool that she actually took the time to do this.
Brad, that truly is awesome and that the person remembered her comments after 8 months.
Brad,
You've got to love people! They're fascinating in all their antics.
Bill
Brad, this is an excellent example of 1 awe shucks , knocking off a whole lot of atta-girls,. Fortunately, the awe shucks came back to be corrected, hopefully before too many people saw the first comment. There is a justice to right the wrongs
That is an absolutely awesome blog. It is great to hear positive comments for a change from John Q. Public. It is also to me considered a great testimonial for future business to come, that if its broke, she will fix it.
Good morning Brad,
Wow..I echo Debe's comments..thanks for going above and beyond as you always do!
Kudos to him for trying to make things right...we all need second chances, just like this story proves!
Ah, a happy ending story! I love it when people actually take the time to make something right.
Brad, love this and thank you for sharing it with us - definitely your return comment helped make this a very happy ending! ~ Susan
Brad,
Active Rain has created a community that raises the bar for the profession.
Steve
Good job by Ruby to take the time and effort to "turn things around". Most people would have not even bothered!
Brad, way to go in making this reveral of a comment post!
Kudo's to Ruby for wanting to change something due to Angeline's effort to change Ruby's opinion of her!
Good job Angeline!
Brad - thanks for sharing the story with all of us today. It's wonderful that Ruby had the integrity to stand by her words (and know when it was time to 'eat them') and really impressive that Angeline went so far above and beyond to fix whatever caused the negative criticism. This is how social media and online networks should work. Great story!
Admitting you made a mistake and asking to rectify exemplifies a strong person.
Ty
Thats pretty cool. Admitting it is one thing, the results are another... and the results are golden!
It's always good to be able to admit a mistake or wrongdoing to make it right.
I think this quote really fits this situation...Thanks for sharing Brad.
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are. ~John Wooden
This story teaches us all to think twice before we make disparaging remarks about someone that is permanent i.e. on the web!
I like this type of testimonial, it went from bad to excellent.
To err against someone is human, but to acknowledge it and seek to correct the error is divine.
LOL..buddy...you just found the diamond in the rough...nice to hear something positive once and a while.
Brad - That person gives "hope" for how we think of others! What a stunner.
That is amazing and restores my faith in humanity. For every one positive you generally get ten negative, or so the story goes, so this is awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Brad - This was very nice of the non-member. I can appreciate the earnest attempt from 8 months ago to have it removed. Most it would be, out of sight out of mind" Apparently not it has probably been on this persons mind the entire time.
It must have been a part of the 12 step program.
I guess Faith wouldn't need such restoration were it not for people like this...another example, to me, of misbehavior & rudeness getting way too much attention...sorry, I suffer from the second child/wallflower syndrome...so...uh, I'll take back my potentially reactive comment before I post it. Great! Bravo! Evolution rocks!
That's pretty cool. Don't you wish more people would take the time to report positive feedback? Unfortunately (I'm guilty too), we seem to only take the time to contact ANYONE with our opinions, when we we want to lodge a complaint :-/
That is indeed great and I would like to thank you for sharing that with all of us!
You are a caring person. This is a feel-good story. It's nice to hear about an unhappy person turning into a fan. Pretty cool of Ruby to make things right.
What a great Support Ticket Request and just as great a response back from you. It seems these days that we constantly are bombarded with gripes and complaints.
How refreshing that someone wants to correct a previous wrong comment she has come to feel was not warranted. That takes a fair and just person wanting to correct a wrong from 8 months ago and it was bothering her consious.
I still prefer to believe that there actually are more good folks than misguided ones!
Sue of Robin and Sue
This is definitely a feel good story for times when we need to hear more positive news. Thanks for taking the time to share with AR community.
This is a happy tale, and it's so nice of you to have posted it. I think all 'Rainers look to you for technical help but it looks like you're well-rounded, LOL.
You've got to admire that in a person. Thanks for renewing my faith in mankind with this post.
