How Big Is Twitter?

How Big is Twitter? This is without a doubt the largest "Twitter related" graphic I have ever embedded into an ActiveRain blog post. If you printed twitter today, here's some great comparisons of what that might look like with a really good printer! LOL~ I'm not sure how accurate this comparison is, but I did find this very interesting.

If You Printed Twitter
Infographic by Cartridge Save

My first tip and suggestion for 2011? DON'T PRINT Twitter! I'd love to see a similar comparison for someone considering printing Facebook, I'm willing to bet that it would most likely consume the earth's entire source of paper and require every printer cartridge on the planet?!?

Just some food for thought....

If you're looking for some "useful" Twitter facts & tips, here's a site with nearly 25,000 people contributing and sharing their ideas with each other. I have found some great tips and articles here: TFollower.com

Well, that certainly spells it out!     I think Twitter is very misunderstood as a marketing venue, and will further come into its own.

Maybe I will just save Twitter to a USB thumb drive...

I love stats and comparisons, some of these can be fairly accurate and get pretty creative.

Li - I think you may be right! - :-)

Mike - How Big is your thumb drive?  lol~

Just to give a sample of how powerful Twitter can be when used properly, here's just one of 5 really "cool tweets links" that just rolled down my Tweetdeck.  50 Stock Photo Sites for Every Small Business Need - http://smallbiztrends.com/2011/01/image-sites-small-business.html

If I had the time, I could come back evey 30 minutes with a new and useful link that someone has shared on Twitter, it's one of the biggest and fastest moving resources of content and information I've ever seen, but you need to have the time and tools to filter through it all.

Of course if you asked congress to print Twitter it would cost twice as much and take three times as long as the numbers reflected here!

Takes it way out and beyond the "firehose" analogy doesn't it! Those numbers are mind numbing and hard to actually fathom. And that's just Twitter... as you said, there's Facebook, then add in everywhere else we exchange info... like YouTube...

Brad - Does it mean we are all becoming nothing more than internet bytes?  I love your graphics.

How funny, really brings home that just a few words sent out can go a long way and also how this has really become popular.  Thanks for sharing!

Not only facebook and u-tube what about activerain?  I know Twitter is a great marketing tool and resource but I don't understand the fascination to document every thought or action....do I really need to know if your drinking a mocha latte right now?....lol.

Twitter is big, but the question is how to use it efficiently?

Brad - pretty cool. It certainly conveys vividly how big Twitter has gotten. I can't even imagine the graphic for Facebook.
