How To Maximize Your Prezi.com Presentations

How To Maximize Your Prezi.com Presentations - "The Secret Recipe"

A couple months ago I mentioned a site called Prezi.com and shared a post on Activerain called Prezi Presentations - Take Your Powerpoints to the Next Level.  Though that post didn't receive many comments or reblogs, I still believe in their product and feel strongly that with some creative thought and application, this could be a very useful tool.

This is just the PREZI - Presentation Before Secret Recipe

I wanted to share a concept and a vision that I was able to fulfill by using the following sites and tools. It's my "Secret Prezi Recipe" and I've been thinking about trying this out for quite some time now.  I'm almost certain this hasn't been done before, at least not using these sites, tools, and the steps I'm about to share.

All presentations start with an idea, some content, a topic and a point, or a concept with vision and a purpose.  This can be applied to anything you want to share or present.  Naturally, I decided to use my own company as a sample to demonstrate how this could be used and applied to a presentation.  I scribbled out a few thoughts and ideas on Prezi.com, then added some font titles, some screen images, a couple videos etc. and the journey was under way.

THE SECRET PREZI RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS and INGREDIENTS :

  • Use your company, products, tools, service, or experience etc. to create message
  • Create your entire presentation using PREZI and the FREE tools they provide
  • Use Screenflow, Screenr.com, or any Screencast software to capture and record PREZI
  • Import your screencast of PREZI into iMovie or Movie Maker etc for music and editing
  • Upload your final PREZI presentation to Youtube or yor favorite video hosting site.

The final result will be something unique, one-of-a-kind, and special because you made it. A presentation to be enjoyed and shared with others for years to come.  Now, I could have just created a PREZI demo and embedded it here for you all to watch quietly... but I think most of you will agree that the additional steps taken and secret ingredients added helped bring a simple PREZI to life and make it a much more "lively" presentation.

I'm excited and anxious to hear your thoughts and comments.

This is the FINAL PREZI - Presentation After the Secret Recipe

There's no reason YOU can't create a really cool or totally amazing presentation about your area, your company, you or your services or products etc.  Just jump on over to Prezi and begin YOUR journey.  Even if you wait a week, a month, or even a year, just knowing there are tools like this out there and available for free is reassuring and will come in really handy when it comes time to put together your next presentation.

I have to say I missed this the first time you talked about it, but it certainly made one awesome looking and sounding presentation for Zillow. I'm going to have to bump up my presentation.

I had to bookmark this one for later Brad. I too missed the first one, but think it warrants a closer look.

Thanks for the post.

Hi Brad, didn't know if I was watching a Zillow presentation, but figured out after coming back and rereading your post, you used prezi to create that whole presentation, now that is some cool stuff.  Also, I am going to be passing your info on to my broker of record for APRE here in Texas....he is looking into some Zillow programs for the agents with APRE here in DFW and Texas.

While most Realtors use iPAD, I am waiting for my new CONFEDERATE grey Toshiba Thrive to arrive as it has a host of presentation tools already loaded.  I want something installed IN my tablet to take to prospect property owner homes AND vacant properties.

We are not sitting in a furnished home with electricity and wi-fi nowadays to do our presentations.......

Hi Brad,

I have watched your presentation and am quite impressed.  I just don't give myself enough credit here...I am going to try to do this, I really like it and can see where it would be VERY beneficial.  I may have questions!!

Brad,

Fabulous presentation!  I have conquered Powerpoint (and Keynote), but I am missing the skill-set for adding music.  Guess I will have to add that to my Brad Andersohn Homework List.  Thanks for sharing!

I've been looking at Prezi for a while now, just had to find some spare time to investigate and play with it.  At first it will seem a bit challenging, but if you watch the "tutorial video" it becomes really clear and simple to use.  I'd love to see some of your works-of-art, feel free to add a link here to any of your Prezi creations or "secret recipes"  :-)

Brad - I know video editing is a breeze on a Mac.  I've got a PC, so not sure if I can do all the steps.  Very impressive!

Hi Gail - you can use Windows Movie Maker to do the same exact thing using a PC. It comes free on most PC's.  You can also use screenr.com instead of ScreenFlow which is also a free online screencasting tool.  :-)

Brad: This is good stuff. I will have to see what I can do to make it work for me!

Right now I'm working on a project using a simple screen capture of a website/blog to demonstrate how you can create a navigational tutorial on your webpage or blog using a simple yet powerful prezi presentation.  It's really cool.  Hope to have it done in the next couple weeks to share here.  :-)
