Inman News Innovator of the Year Award

Inman News Innovator of the Year Award

Having just returned from the Inman News Real Estate Connect Conference in San Francisco, CA. my first instinct was to create a long post sharing all the great information and awesome take-aways I came away with this year, but then after some thought, I decided to share this with you instead, at least for now.  All the great tech stuff coming later...

On July 28th, 2011 at the Hilton Union Square Grand Ballroom, Brad Inman Founder of Inman News, Tim Smith CEO of Inman, and Chris Smith, the newly appointed Chief Evangelist for Inman announced the 2011 Innovator of the Year Award Winner.  Up until the morning of the announcement, I had no idea who the winner was going to be, but I had heard some names mentioned and was encouraged to not miss this presentation.

It was a very exciting moment to say the least, and to capture it on video was an honor.  It's the only video footage I have from the entire 3 day event.  My hat's off to the winners, and my heart and congratulations goes out to ALL the nominees from every category. There truly are no losers, everyone nominated is a winner in my opinion.

The Inman team must have a very difficult time trying to select winners beyond the "People's Choice" awards.  Shout-outs and Kudos to their entire team and staff for a fine job well done!  Thanks, and congrats to Inman on celebrating 15 years of Real Estate Connect Success.

Now, please take a moment to join me in congratulating the 2011 Inman News "Innovator of the Year" for winning a very prestigious and coveted award....drum roll please...the winner is....

Hi Brad, congrats to Zillow and your CEO, more and more people I speak within real estate are saying how Zillow is changing the game for agents using it.  Looking forward to more of your post from the conference.

Well, I am not surprised! I speak highly of Zillow and I guess I should thank Spencer for my success! Truly, "one happy Zillow client!"

Thanks, Brad!  Congratulations are definately in order.  I went to the Charlotte, NC  ActiveRain meeting last year and was totally impressed with everything, including the Zillow presentation.  I came back home and called Zillow to sign up for Zip Code advertising.  My business has flourished because of that.  Most of my clients since then have been Zillow contacts.  The Reviews on Zillow are awesome, because others call me because of those.  Zillow Rocks!  Thanks for all you do!

This is humbling, and sort of embarassing! Thanks to Sara for receiving the reward for me (I'm sorry I wasn't able to be there!!), and THANK YOU to Inman for the extraordinary honor.

Thanks most of all to Zillow's incredible partners and employees for making all of the success that we've had so far possible.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to view the video, to congratulate Spencer, and to comment.

Dale - thanks, it's great to hear from you.

Margaret - lets try to connect this week if possible.

John - thanks for that comment, we're not changing the game, just getting more folks in and on the game board! :)

Lauren - AWESOME!!  I know Spencer saw and read your comment, thanks.

Doug - that is what it's all about.  I shared your comment and a link to it with some other members here, hope that's ok.

Kristin - thanks. It's all about the love and passion. If we're passionate about what we do, then we'll simply love doing it!

Endre - when I make it down to LA, we'll hook up for sure.  I'm recording a music project soon and hope to be down there in September or October.  I'll look you up.  Thanks.

Phil - did you like that?  I figured if I just made the announcement, then no one would watch the video...  looks like it worked on you.  The only thing I forgot is that anyone could just read the first comment and then they'd know! How does that old saying go???  "You can trick some of the people some of the time...  :-))

Maya - it was very exciting to be there and to see all the other nominees and winners too.

Jean - YES, we're all pretty excited and Spencer really deserves it.

DeeDee - and he'll be the firt to admit that...  in fact he does right below your comment.

Spencer - just one word for you...  CONGRATS!!!
