The ActiveRain Stuff You Won't Find Anywhere Else on the Web

ActiveRain Real Estate Technology

The ActiveRain Real Estate Technology Group is a public member forum and is now inviting all members to join and participate in our group.  We will be selecting an additional 3-5 moderators before year-end and will also be putting more focus and attention on our contributor's content for group featured posts.

The group started back in 2007 and has now grown to over 1450 members with over 4200 Real Estate Technology posts available.  You don't have to be a member of the group to enjoy and benefit from the blog posts and entries there, but we'd love to have you join if you're interested.

The Real Estate Technology Group is now one of the Top 100 Groups on ActiveRain out of the 7200 plus that are currently available. (#42 for Most Subscribed) If you're looking for information and content specifically related to Real estate and technology, this may be a great group of folks for you to visit and join.

Technology and Tools - is also another great resource here on ActiveRain and comes highly suggested.

We look forward to your participation and contributions, even if that means just stopping by from time to time to see what NEW and EXCITING technology(s) are available that you may just want to know more about for your real estate business.

Here's an additional great benefit for members of the group:

Hi Brad, There are so many opportunties to engage here at AR sometimes it's easy to miss great groups. I'm off to join now, I need some new tech tips.

Posted by Rich Cederberg, eXp Realty Agent Albuquerque (eXp Realty) almost 8 years ago

Hi Brad - The problems with ALL groups is that AR only allows us to see the most recent 10 pages of posts which each contain about 20 posts.  Thus, we can only see 200 posts.  The oldest post that we can currently see in the Real Estate Technology Group was dated July 15, 2011, less than two months ago.

I presume you still have much broader access to groups (i.e. to all 4,200 posts) due to your prior employment at AR.  We do not have such access.

Can you get the AR programming team to expand access?  Otherwise, many of the otherwise most valuable groups are essentially useless if the group has more than 200 posts.

Brad there are so many groups, I suggest someone should streamline, combine it...narrow down the list. This one went under the radar for me, eveb though I have been a memerber I have not participated, I guess better late than never. Thank you for highlighting this group.

Thanks so much Brad. Like many of the others I don't know how I missed this group and I am certainly looking forward to all the helpful info it will provide. Thanks again.

Marc - you make an excellent point, one which I will take to the AR staff for questioning.  I am only a member and ambassador here now so I can only see and access the same as you and other members.

It makes no sense to me why every post in every group shouldn't be accessible?  It could just be a bug in the "rain" or maybe that was setup that way by Jorgen intentionally when he was here and no one ever caught it, I'm not too sure.

I am forwarding this comment and question to the AR staff to see if we can get an answer and then hopefully resolve.  Thanks for pointing this out.  Your discovery may have just helped 7200+ groups on ActiveRain provide even greater value to their subscribers.  BTW - They should throw you some AR bonus points for that one... I know I would.  :-)

Marc,

This was the result of the poor performance issues a while back. We had to eliminate some functionality in favor of stability. Getting all the content in groups to display is on the list of things for our new development team to tackle. Not sure where it's at in the order on that list but I do know they have it on the radar.

(thanks for passing on the question Brad)

Still a fantastic site, even after 4 years. Glad I got in when I did, but wish maybe I jumped in a little sooner.

I have learned a lot from this group but I have to click on the group to check out the new posts and do not do it often.

Posted by Gita Bantwal, REALTOR,ABR,CRS,SRES,GRI - Bucks County & Philadel (RE/MAX Centre Realtors) almost 8 years ago

Gita - another great point and excellent observation!! This leads me to my next thoughts ...

@Bob Stewart - It would be AWESOME if the AR programmer could add an "RSS" or "SUBSCRIBE TO" feature to groups.  This way members won't miss the content being posted in their favorite groups.

And while I'm thinking about it, why not add a "LIKE" feature to comments like on Facebook so that other members could agree with comments (like this one) if they wanted to?

Just a wishful thought..... and request.  :-)

There are 7200 groups to choose from and its over-whelming at best, but I agree with comment 10, I just plain did not know about this group and will check it out. Thanks.

This seems like an excellent well established forum to join for any practicing Realtor to learn more about technology

I love this idea and so I rebloged it to make sure my readers hear about it as well. I think technology has taken us a long way in the past few years and knowing about it first is important.
