The ActiveRain Stuff You Won't Find Anywhere Else on the Web

5 Free Screen Sharing Sites

Have you ever been talking on the phone with someone and wanted to share your computer screen with them?  Even if for a moment, just to show them something?  How about that conference call with two or three people on the line and no way for them to see what you see on your screen?

In most cases, people just share or mention sites, give a URL, or email everyone a link.

GotoWebinar, GotoMeeting, and Webex are great sites and tools for doing online conferences, training, webinars, and screen sharing but they are not FREE.  I continue using these for daily training and support webinars but what about the individual who doesn’t have tons of attendees, or doesn’t want to pay hundreds of dollars for a “screen sharing” account?

Let me show you how screen sharing can be easy, fast, and FREE!

Here are the Top 5 Free screen sharing and collaboration sites I’ve found, researched, and used personally either to share my screen “live” with someone else, or to have them share their computer screen with me.  Check out all 5 and see which one will work best for you when the time comes for you to share your screen with one of your clients or friends.

Click on any of the screen captures below to start using that site immediately and for FREE.

1. JOIN.ME -
To see my screen "LIVE" right now, got to but only for the next 60 minutes.

Here's A few creative ways to use these screen sharing tools and sites:

  • Showing a client how to use your MLS or IDX website.
  • Teaching another associate how to accomplish tasks for your business.
  • Walking a client through some paperwork or online contracts.
  • Explaining and navigating a client through a site that can bring them value, or...
  • Sharing a tool or site with a prospect that could bring them closer to being your client.

The possibilities are unlimited and the technology and tools are available and FREE.

Way cool!  The 2nd site had a nice voice tutorial from the get-go which is nice.  Never thought of screen sharing.  Nice idea!

Thanks everyone - I'm actually screen sharing this post "LIVE" right now.

The link up in the post allows me to share any screen with you or you can share your screen with me if you choose.  I can see where this would come in real handy for anyone in the tech support or customer service fields.

Here's the link if you want to join,  I'll keep it live for a bit but my wife just hollered up the stairs "DINNER's READY" so I'll be at the table with the family for a bit, but I'll share some interesting screens while I'm away at dinner!  lol~

I use Join.Me for my WordPress Mastermind group and we love it. She gets a bit sluggish, but it still works.

NOW, I'd never even thought of the idea of showing a client hw to use my website. That just ROCKS!

I can also think it will help me with some other things I've wanted to do..but just never thought of screen sharing. AWESOME!!

Brad, I had no idea of these free resources. I tried a pay service for a while, but did not have the constant need so I dropped the service. These are great for an occassional user like me. Thanks.

Great post. doesn't seem to be working for me. I've used before but I'm looking for something else because there seems to be a slight time delay. I think I had the same problem with I am trying to find a way to share my listing presentation live with absentee owners. I guess will have to do.

Free is good — no question about it — but you still "get what you pay for," in my experience... I've used a few of these options, especially Skype, but my favorite service for online collaboration is definitely RHUB.

John - free is NOT good, free is GREAT!!

Respectfully... I disagree regarding "you get what you pay for" just look at all the Free stuff Google provides:

Look at all this free stuff that's available on the web for anyone's business:

and look at all the free stuff we have for agents on Zillow:

There are some free services and tools out there but like anything you have to filter through the junk to find all the hidden treasures.
