The ActiveRain Stuff You Won't Find Anywhere Else on the Web Gets Reincarnated as Ribbet closes today. The NEW will be opening very soon and the only difference between the two is the name. looks EXACTLY like Picnik and will offer the same exact style and type of features.

If you like easy access to your images, photos and graphics with the ability to create collages, add text overlays, adjust contrast and brightness, combine images, use custom effects and more, then Ribbet is the NEW online graphic/photo/image editor for you. looks like the reincarnation of

“When Google announced Picnik’s impending closure in early 2012 there was enormous public outcry. People had come to rely on the service, that brought “photo awesomeness” to everyone, and they weren’t happy to see it go, to say the least.

Along came Ribbet! Packed with all the original Picnik functionality and built on the same platform that made it great, Ribbet offers a familiar interface and the same ease-of-use that people have come to love. read more…

Since Ribbet has not gone live just yet, you can request an invite to join.  Go for it!

The screen shot of Ribbet (below) demonstrates just how much the NEW Ribbet resembles the OLD and now closed Picnik. It’s amazing to see how much these two look and feel like the same site.  Hmmm...  Almost makes you wonder if there isn’t something fishy going on here…  :)

We will definitely go take a look.  We have explored PicMonkey and it looks a lot like Picnic too and seems to present itself as the same people, but this Ribbet sounds promising too.  Thanks for the heads up.

Oh I'm excited to hear this.  I have been using ipiccy which is nice, but I just loved picnik.  I have sent my email through.  Thanks for the tip!

Fishy or not.... I like it!  Have been using ipiccy and find it just as useful, but will definitely check out Ribbet when it launches!

I'm going to go over there now and request an invitation. In the mean time, I thought ipiccy was supposed to take over the picnik gap?

A while back I had found iPiccy and thought it was the closest to Picnik: ipiccy-is-picniks-closest-replacement But then I saw these others: free-photo-graphic-editing-sites and thought they'd be a great replacement. Even PicMonkey caught my attention: picmonkey-launches-online-photo-editing/ but the truth is, when I saw this morning, I really believed it was, just with a new name.

Good news, Brad!   I really liked Picnick so was bumbed to see it closing.  I forced myself to get on photobucket to do some things yesterday and it worked out fine but love how easy picnik was to use.

Brad, I have to check this out.  I like I-Photo for editing - easy enough for me to use!  But it has some limits.

I'd switched to ipiccy and it seems to do everything I need, and quite a bit more actually.  And I don't see any charges at all, so I liked that about it.

Great news, Brad.  I literally stayed up 'til after midnight EDT creating all the things on Picnik that I could anticipate needing any time soon.  I hope this is everything Picnik is, or that one of these other sites will do the job.

It has more options for editting faces, like editting hair colors and even removing wrinkles

Posted by Greg Nino, Houston, Texas (RE/MAX Compass, formerly RE/MAX WHP) almost 9 years ago

I've been wondering the same as Renee Burrows (#43) - wasn't there a non-compete clause?  This looks like a clone of Picnik.  At least with it closing I was able to try out some other editors and found a couple keepers, although I'm still learning on the new ones.  It will be nice to have Picnik back, er ... Ribbit.  Thanks for the heads up.

I'll bet someone bought the code or licensed it so they could bring up this new site.  Personally, I use Corel Paintshop Photo Pro.  It does most of what Photoshop will do but priced a lot less.

Posted by Bryan Robertson almost 9 years ago

Bryan - I love using Paintshop Pro. I remember purchasing it way back when just because at the time I couldn't afford Adobe photoshop.  Since I'm on the go a lot now, having easy access to online free tools has come in very handy.

Brad, I received PhotoShop Elements with my Nikon Camera a few years ago and it is just the same as Photoshop minus a very few "Bells & Whistles". I still preferred to use Picasso/Piknik as it is all I need for RE gigs....I'll see how it goes with Ribit

Will wait for your webinar..whenver that happens!
