Do you remember when...
Today I was taking a journey down memory lane and wanted to share something with some of you AR old-timers. You may even be included in this video below.
I was very fortunate and blessed to be at an event in San Francisco where I finally got to meet up with all these fine people in person. Of course I had talked to many of them via ActiveRain posts and comments etc., I had even chatted with some of them over the phone. But getting to meet them in person was truly one of the greatest highlights of my journey here on ActiveRain.
I'm honored to now call and consider all these people my friends, and what they shared in this video made me realize then (and now) that the true power of the Internet, ActiveRain and Social Media is not in just the transactions, it's honestly in the people.
Hearing ActiveRain Voices!
It's all about people....
It's all about relationships...
It's all about the education...
It's all about trust....
It's all about the love....
It's all about the FUN!
It's really all about being who you are, being transparent and connecting with others to build meaningful and life-long relationships that matter and make a difference in our lives. The business and rewards are just a bi-product of having successfully built your foundations on people!
Enjoy the journey...
Brad- good to see you here and what a treat to see the video. I only wish I'd been able to attend the Raincamps back then. Hope you have a great Fourth of July.
I attended one of the Raincamps but I think I attended another one. I remember you in a band at the one I was at.
Brad - This is really cool. I know many of those Rainers. I wish they did the same thing for the Raincamp I attended in Atlantic City. And, so glad I got to meet you there. - Debbie Gartner
Hi Brad... Thanks for the ride down memory lane. I haven't seen this video in quite a while. Yet, I don't forget and do agree, it's all about the people and relationships! Fun to see so many of my friends in video! Have a great 4th and thanks for the post!
Hey Kathy - this was actually shot on location at Inman Connect San Francisco many years ago. Thanks for commenting and I hope you have an awesome 4th of July too. :-)
Gene - that was a RainCamp in San Francisco, our family band "Armored Flight" got to open the show playing one of Bob Stewarts favorite tunes. In fact, here's the video of us playing and introducing Bob Stewart as the event's emcee.
My youngest son (the guitarist) is only 10 years old in this video. :)
If you want to see how he progressed, here he is in a video he recorded when he was 14 years old. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dinDv-xNGDI
Debbie - sure wish I could've done the same in Atlanta, but it was really great finally getting to meet you in person. :-) Hope to see you again one day soon.
Rene' - definitely a ride down memory lane, felt the same when I came across this... and so glad I did. Have a great fourth my friend and lets stay in touch.
I've met a few of those folks in person myself.
Hi Brad, It was nice seeing many of my old friends. Have a good weekend.

What a fun video to watch! Thanks for sharing this with us. Active Rain has been a big part of our business as well.
It is a fun journey. I honest don't understand what agents did for education, companionship and enlightenment before ActiveRain!
Hi Brad,
I came over from Kathy's post this morning and so glad I caught your post! What a great video to share! You are right Active Rain is a wonderful journey for agents. It's like taking mini courses each day..so much sharing and enlightening topics that help us all keep on moving and exploring the best business practices in our field!!
Brad, gee, where are they now? These are some wonderful old faces that, except for Jeff Dowler, I haven't seen in years.
Brad, I came way after this group and didn't get to know any of these folks, BUT, the point of what they've said IS timeless and one of the sustaining credos of AR.
By the way, your family band's song is one of my hubby's favorite from one of his all-time favorite movies, Rocky. Some great high-notes by the female singer!! Good for her...now I'm off to go see what your son did later in life.
Found this thanks to Kathy!!
Thanks for sharing this Brad, would be nice if we have another AR conference to capture more video like this soon.
Brad, So good to see you. You have captured some good memories. Thanks so much for sharing.
It sure is awesome hearing from all of you, been getting all these comments via my email notifications, just haven't had the chance or time to respond back to each of you. Will do shortly... special thanks and a kudos shout-out to Kathy Streib for writing and posting a link back to this blog post! Thanks Kathy <3
Hey Brad~ Now I'm not only motivated to host an ActiveRain meetup, but I'm also going to make a video!
Brad - fun to see some of those faces again. If I had known the Rain Camps were going away, I qould have flown out to San Francisco for some of those........... Miss you
Not to confuse anyone here, but the video interview in this post was actually taken at the Inman Connect conference in San Francisco many years back. However the family band playing in comment #6 was a RainCamp held at a later date... also in San Francisco.
Now you all understand why "My Heart Is Still Left In San Francisco!?" :-)
I love Active Rain and that video perfectly summarizes all of the reason why. Thanks for sharing this Brad!
Thanks Christopher - I love sharing this stuff.
Brad,
Always cool to see what you have to share!
