The ActiveRain Stuff You Won't Find Anywhere Else on the Web

How To Use Video Crowdsourcing for Real Estate

I just stumbled across this really cool site called Vidrack that allows users to setup a free account, create a landing page that can be customized on and from your mobile device, then sent and shared with your prospects, clients and followers etc. that allows them to record and submit their user created video.

This Vidrack example was setup in less than 5 minutes: http://vidrack.me/bradandersohn

“Vidrack is a web-based video recorder used to collect videos through a website or landing page. It’s a video record button you can place on any web page. Your followers can record and submit videos for you using only a camera and a browser. No app downloads, account creation, login, uploading or link sharing. It’s the simplest way possible for someone to record and submit a video to you. It can be used to collect video testimonials, video interviews, video feedback, video reviews and more.”

You can also embed Vidrack on your websites and blogs. This creates a single click option and opportunity to allow user submitted videos. (See embed below). How about a quick ActiveRain field test? Click the "Record Video" button, allow camera access then send me your "private" video response.

A Variety of Ways I see Using Vidrack for Your Real Estate Business.

  • Soliciting Video Reviews and Client Testimonials
  • Create Community Video Contests from User Submitted Videos
  • Video Interviews with Buyers and Sellers for DIY Projects
  • Submit Suggestive Tips and Allow Video Response Feedback
  • Add Video Record Button for visitors to record and submit video
(All videos are collected privately and stored on your Video Rack)

Hi Brad - Interesting concept and well worth checking out. Thanks for the pointer!

Posted by Dick Greenberg, Northern Colorado Residential Real Estate (New Paradigm Partners LLC) about 2 years ago

Hey Judi - I know some agents like to get video reviews and testimonials.

I like that you can use client submitted videos to help buyers get inspired and motivated to buy? Agents do a great job of helping sell consumers homes but the owners really know best what features they love and why and can share using this video tool why they bought the home to begin with?

This is powerful crowdsourcing marketing tool that not many agents have considered implementing. That may all change now... let me know~  :-)

Thanks for reading and commenting Dick, I promise it's worth checking out. I did that example right on my iPhone.

I Registered, created, customized and posted it in under 5 minutes. Way cool!

I don't see an example Brad.  Just something that says I can record one.  I'd love to see what you recorded, but it's not here for me.  I'll try on my phone.

Posted by Tammy Lankford,, Broker GA Lake Sinclair/Eatonton/Milledgeville (Lane Realty Eatonton, GA Lake Sinclair, Milledgeville, 706-485-9668) about 2 years ago

Tammy - you ARE the one recording, so give it a whirl and submit one to me. 😜

You can use this tool to get others to submit their videos to you!?

Check out some of the links in the post so you can see some of the examples.

The videos that people do submit to you remain private on the Vidrack dashboard, but can then be uploaded and shared around the web later if you choose. It's a really cool way to solicit and get crowdsourced video.  :-)

When someone creates and submits a video, you get a nice email notification so your video testimonials (and other crowdsourced video content) won't fall through the cracks.

Thanks to those who submitted these so I could test this out. You guys rock!!

This is cool and I haven't heard of this before so thanks for sharing... Video is most definately having great success... some have an easier time with it than others... much easier if you more extraverted... most agents are... not the case for me...  but I need to find a way to get over that... and do it anyway!!!

Posted by Dianne Hicks (Realty ONE Group) over 1 year ago

Thanks for reading and commenting Dianne. Video is a great marketing and communication tool, we just have to get our of our own minds and heads to use it most efficiently and effectively. A little practice with a purpose and a plan and you should be good to go.  :)
