I'll be the first to admit, I didn't really like the previous ReBlog graphic/icon as I
felt it was too big. It moved my text around making my posts look funny, and it was completely useless for me as the author of my Blog. The value seemed to only be for the ReBlogger. I know there are still mixed opinions about "ReBlogging" and the value of it, so like "open houses" I'll let that controversy continue onward and upward, but not here.
You'll notice this morning that the ReBlog icon has in fact changed, and in my opinion, for the better. I can finally see who has been ReBlogging my posts. The best part is that now you can also Link to the ReBloggers post to see what they might have said about it, or others that may have commented. Think of all the comments you've been missing about your post that was ReBlogged! :-O
This is a great new feature and I really like the look of the "NEW" and "Improved" graphic.
(The AR Tech Team redeems themselves)
You can also ReBlog members posts to appear on your Outside ActiveBlogs. No other Network offers a tool like this, ActiveRain continues to be on the cutting edge of social networking and technology.
HOW TO USE THE REBLOG OPTION:
If it's green
it's clean, but if it's Grey with green dots
then you've been REBLOGGED!! To ReBlog another members post, just click on the ReBlog button. To view a ReBlogged post and the ReBloggers comments or additions, just click on the green dots below the button. (Just fyi...You cannot ReBlog your own posts) To add the ReBlog option to your Blog posts, when creating the post, just put a check mark in the box that says:
then submit post.
HERE'S THE NEW REPORT YOU GET FROM YOUR REBLOGGED POSTS:
IMO - A ReBlogged Post is one of the finest compliments you can give another ActiveRain Member!
I never thought I'd say this, but now I don't mind going back to all my posts and adding the ReBlog option to every single one of them. Especially now that I can see who has ReBlogged me, and what they had to say. Now we can follow the chain and threads on our ReBlogged posts, and the new face-lifted graphic won't affect the layout or design of our posts. I personally like the change and want to thank our guys for listening to the community and for making it happen. Kudos Gents!! :-)
If there were one single Blog post on AR that should be Reblogged by every member here, I'd say it's:
this one!

Love it... spotted it, (and already posted about it).. but didn't now just how it worked.
However, I can see that for YOUR reblog button.. it's green.... but when I look at my OWN reblog button (when I haven't yet been reblogged), it's still grey!! What up?
So, are we back to getting 25 points for reblogging someone... and 25 points for BEING reblogged... I noticed that has been "turned off" for quite a while.
Very cool...now I need to go see the comments for my ReBlogged posts. Thanks AR
Hey, Brad. Job well done!! I love the new icon 100 times better and the new report is awesome. I will make you my first re-blog. Thanks and take care, Jim
Alan - let me check on that, and why did you post about it and not just reblog mine??? LOL!! :-))
Keith - I spent most the morning going around and checking all the my posts that had been reblogged. WOW! I didn't realize how much I was missing. What an eye opener for sure. Thanks to the AR tech gods for getting this back on track, I see a much greater value in it now. :-)
Brad - Like the new graphic. Makes for a quick visual scan. Thanks for the update!
HI Brad, I like the green reblog button too.. its noticable and not distracting. Now can you ask someone to fix that HUGE OBNOXIOUS BUTTON for GROWTH LEADER? :)
Great post Brad. I love the shameless self promotion at the end...-LOL Dinah Lee
Jim - thanks for the first ReBlog on this post, I was hoping you'd ReBlog the link at the bottom of this post! LOL~ That's the one I really want to get out there! (hehehe) Seriously though, thank you. :-)
I love to reblog great AR blogs BUT the members only ones will appear in my outside blog automatically. Anyway to prevent that from happening?
Brad, Very cool and very funny but I am working on my own Tahiti fund at the moment!!
That's so cool, Brad. I like the new re-blog button as well. I have reblogged a few posts from Active Rain members that I thought were great and got some interesting responses from them. It's nice that the original poster will be able to read these comments as well. Now I'm going to reblog this just to try out the new button!
Brad - I noticed on my blogs that it says disabled, although it is marked for reblog - any idea?
BTW - I do like to new looks for the reblog botton - thanks
Brad, Great move. This was something people had issues with but never mentioned. btw: we're trying to get you to Tahiti! .
Sardi don't do tutorials:) Besides, how could I ever compete? Thanks for the update, Brad. As far as reblogging this, break into my account and make me;)
Brad ---thanks for the update and thanks to Active Rain for the face lift. I love the green button --- this makes it so easy to spot.
I'll reblog if you take some of us with you....;-)
I like it.
Much better button and kinda cute, too.
You deserve a trip to Hawaii....
Thanks Brad. I think it's a great improvement. I'd like to make a suggestion though. I'd like to be able to control the re-blog distribution to members only, or my personal blog. Occasionally, for instance this blog, I think would be worthy of re-blogging, but I don't want it on my public blog and feel it should be members only.
Fran and Rowena - glad you like... :-)
Gail - I'll make sure that your request gets to the right folks here. Thanks.
Dinah - shameless self promotion? haha. I know you saw the subtle paypal button on my sidebar! :-O
Gina - if I wasn't here commenting, I'd be calling you right now, will call in about 10 minutes. I believe you can only blog posts that are NOT members only posts. If this isn't the case, then the member who creates the "Members Only" post shouldn't add the "reblog" option. does this make sense? Talk to you in a few.
I see this post below is getting more reblogs than mine... this is a good thing... I think! (HUGE SMILE!!!)
Reblog Post Of The YEAR
Petra - I just checked yours and it's fine. Where do you see diabled? Let me know... :-)
Brad, I, too noticed that mine is greyed out as well..guess that'll be something that will take a few hours or a day to complete throughout the Rain. BTW? I DID reblog Send Brad to Tahiti!! ;-)
Brad - I got to reblog my first blog! Thanks for keeping us updated on all of the Active Rain tools!
Like retweeting on Twitter - I like it - I haven't paid so much attention to it in the past - I thought it was automatically checked and we had to uncheck it if we didn't want to be reblogged. I am now conscious and like the new look!
The most reblogs I've had is 19 on a boring Credit Post. I'm still lamenting on the Tahiti thing;)
Love it! Thank you! I especially like that we can now reciprocate to those who've re-blogged us.
Now, about the placement of the "Notify me of new comments:"box....Any chance we can get it moved back to the bottom of the page?
Sometimes, on a blog that has a gazillion comments on it, I forget (and I suspect others do as well) to go back to the top of the blog to click the little "notify" box.
By the way, since you'll most likely get into some sort of trouble in Tahiti if you go by yourself, I'm volunteering myself to go and keep you out of trouble! So, folks keep those donations coming! If you'd prefer to write a check instead, you can make it out to the "Brad and Craig Early Retirement/ We're Off to Tahiti Fund"!!!
..... and just because I know someone will ask...
NO, you can't ReBlog a ReBlogged post. You also can NOT ReBlog a members only post, I just tried. Even if you write a members only post and check the box that allows reblogging, the icon will not appear in your post.
Now I have a comment and number and number I can refer to when someone does ask this question.
I think this is #29. LOL~
I am going to have to "rethink" reblog! I read some of Bill G's concerns and was not sure if that is the way to go. What say you?
Thanks for the tips . . .
I love the change. HAHA on reblogging your vacation post. Glad to be able to see who reblogged me. Is it retro active and will show up on previous posts? I'm headed to find out. I hope so.
I like the new look... the old button was much too big. This one 'fits' the page much better. You guys are great!
Brad,
Great work.
I too like the new design as well as function. Just when I think things can't get any better... :)
Brad, I thought it was a St. Patrick's Day addition, you know, like that other website that changes their main page, I think it's name is Google :) Rich
Brad, great new look :) .... and I would reblog the other one 1,000,000,000 times, but I keep getting an error. :/
Brad - nice change, thank you. We just had one of our posts reblogged to the Apartment Association of America with a link back to us. I love AR :)
Very cool change and a helpful tool for those who want to see who has re-blogged their post...IMO the button was kinda big
Very Nice B-Rad !!!
I love the fact you can now see who re-blogged you !
... I just checked a few of mine and "ALL BUT TWO PEOPLE" gave an additional line in their intro giving credit back to the original author which I think is the right thing to do.
Love this change ! Very nice !
This is sooooooo cool. I love it!! I love all the upgrades & updates you guys are doing! Keep em' coming! KM
Brad, I like the new one much better too! It looks alot better than the old one. Thanks for keeping us updated.
Brad! This is fantastic!... AR continues to knock it out of the park! Great job.
Hi Brad~ Yes, it looks great..I do like it alot..I love widgets, and gadgets and buttons:) How about an I HEART Brad button???? MWA;)
Question, I know you are awarded 25 points when you reblog someone else's blog, but are you awared points if someone reblogs you? If not, you should be, as it means your content was considered worthwhile enough to share with their readers. Hmmm, what say you oh Active Rain God??
Brad - Sorry it took awhile to get back and thanks for checking my blog. But when I hover over the Re-blog icon, it is labeled "re-blog disabled" and besides the Re-Blog icon is grey.
WOW! ReBlogging can keep you from Blogging if you're not careful... hahahaha!!!
Like it thanks fo r continuing the great work in making these things ahppen. Maybe I will see you next week in Atlanta
Brad,
I think that is a great idea. I never cared for that huge reblog icon myself.
Brigita
Question, I know you are awarded 25 points when you reblog someone else's blog, but are you awared points if someone reblogs you? If not, you should be, as it means your content was considered worthwhile enough to share with their readers.
Janie - This is a great idea and has been discussed by AR. The jury is still out on this one, but let me run this by you.
I agree, reblogging another members post is (IMHO) the highest form of gratitude and appreciation one can give, and to get extra points for it, is just a small reward from AR for doing it. Not only will your reblogged post appear on their Blog, but it will be seen by however many readers they have that you might not.
This is the ultimate example of "viral" exposure. I love it! I think the additional points should go to the reblogger but not convinced that extra points should go to the reblogged. They already get points from the additional comments they may receive as the result of the reblogged post, not to mention it's expanded exposure. "That's what say ye."
This is not to say we couldn't make that happen, I'm just sharing my own thoughts here with you.
oh, I forgot, others are reading too... lol~ (Big Smile)
I didn't even know what reblogging was and now I have to go check to see if any of mine are gray...lol just nosy now! Thanks for explaining it to us...
Wow - ActiveRain is continually becoming "new and improved"! Thanks for making ActiveRain a great place to be!
Petra - If it's green
it's clean, but if it's Grey with green dots
then you've been REBLOGGED!! There is no disable popup on my browsers when I view your Blog, even when I'm logged in as you. Let me call you to be sure I'm clear about what's happening. Thanks. :-)
Hi, Brad--
I'm having the same issue as Petra. When I put my cursor over the Reblog button it says "disabled" even though I have "allow others to re-blog" checked. Thanks for any insight! Have a nice evening.
Brad...
Hmmm mine says that reblogging is disabled but my settings allow it and the blog post has been checked for OK to reblog.
Brad, I've been enjoying using the reblog feature. What liabilities do we incur by allowing our content to be copied by another and should THEIR article be plagarized? Is there a tag embedded or something to prove it was stolen from the rebloggers page? Bill Gassett's experience has me thinking...
Brad - You are one in a million and I'm glad you're with Active Rain. Your response is great and the phone call was a tremendous help - at least I qualify for the FAQ of the week LOL :) Cheers
Brad, no reblog on this post?
Brad, Great move. This was something people had issues with but never mentioned. btw: we're trying to get you to Tahiti! .
Hey Victor, you've obviously never seen our ticket box, emails, support lines and calls. It's been mentioned plenty!! lol~ You were just fortunate to not get exposed! haha.
Regarding the trip? I am following the comments there closely and saw yours. I have since printed it out, framed it, stuck in on the wall, and now stare at it all day long. Visualization my friend, putting it into practice. If I really get to go, (thanks to your generous donation), I would most certainly be traveling via Lancaster, PA. :-)))))))))))))
Thanks Petra - as you can see, some others here were are having the same issue. So as far as one of the questions of the week, it will do a lot of justice so thank you. Only 9 more to go. LOL~
Great talking to you today, have an awesome weekend.
Brad it looks great my friend:)
Brad I just tried it out on my last featured post and it says it was re-blogged 9 times but there are only 7 agents listed - what is the scoop? Are there glitches?
Brad - I am so furious about this new graphic. I mean really, really angry. Why? Because I was about to write a post (I had started it outside of ActiveRain while without an internet connection) about the re-blog graphic. I had just noticed that it was what had been throwing off some of my posts. See, most of my posts have an image centered at the top with credit to the photographer directly below it (also centered). But for some reason (I couldn't figure out why), many posts had two different center points (one for the image and one for the credit). Last night, I finally figured it out. Yeah, I'm slow. So I discovered that if put an extra line break at the top of the post, it is now fixed. Of course, I was about to go back and do all my old posts too, so I'm glad I didn't get that far. The post was going to be the best ever written and I would have been featured and re-blogged a zillion times. Now I've got to wrack my brain for some genius post that will send me to new heights.
Thanks for nothing Brad.
Haha.
To weigh in on the points to those who get re-blogged idea...I think there shouldn't be points for being re-blogged. The extra eyeballs it draws tp your blog is the reward for a job well done. Plus I see an easy potential abuse of the system but those just looking to pad their point counts.
Jason - hahaha!! ok. :-)
Karen - as far as I know, the fund has started... :-O Would it be pre-mature for me to say WOOHOO!??? I'm sure the planes to Tahiti would have plenty of room for us all!!!
Virginia - not sure I wanna settle for Hawaii, I think that's Mirela's call, this was all her idea.....and I like it!! :-)
Brad, everytime I read one of your posts, I pick up something new about AR! Of course, this one in particular is new to all of us.
Thanks for keeping us all informed.
Brad I read every one of your posts and always learn something new--now I'm off to check my re-blogs! Thanks for all your hard work.
Gabe - You DO have that control already.
Just do this:
1. ReBlog this post, add some of your own text and opinion in the area provided when you reblog it.
2. Save the post, but select members only, if it's not available, then #3.
3. Now edit the post, and just change it to "members only!" then save it.
Mission accomplished.
You can reblog a public post, but you cannot reblog a "members only" post.
You CAN reblog a public post and convert it on your Blog to a "members only" post.
You are back in control my friend. I'll be expecting that reblog now... (in members only of course) :-))
So...
When will we be leaving for Tahiti?
Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? :)
Just one of many pointless comments I've made today :)
Could you ask the Guys if I can r'eBlog' my comment points? :)
TLW...ROAR!
Hey Sardi - I never broke into your AR account, but tell me, how did you break into my facebook account and put yourself in the #1 seat??? You are good man!! Give up your secret!!! :-)
Brad - Thanks for the update ! Very very cool as usual. It certainly looks better and love the fact that one can see who reblogged their post. You guys rock !
OK, I guess I am missing something. I have one that say it has been reblogged, but here is all it says. This doesn't exactly tell me who reblogged it?
Brad... great news, I like it! The new icon looks a lot smarter. I like the reblog to outside also, very cool. Do you ever sleep?
Rene' Fabre
I liked that new button so much I already used it today! thanks for the new changes.
I like the new "reblog" button and the ability to see who actually reblogged it. Reblogging by another AR member is a great compliment - I like that you can follow the reblogged post to see the comments.
Sorry - I couldn't resist this, looks like I've been hijacked!! I mean reBlogged! ha ha!! Don't ya just love those google alerts? :-)

and to think I owe it all to AR members and reblogging! :-)))))))))))))))))))
Fantastic...........this just gets better and better!
Anna Banana, Phoenix
Leader in Real Estate...Expert in Fun!
I just want to know if you guys will ever really be satisfied with the site.
Until I read your post, I hadn't even thought about reblogging. now I will!
Hey Brad,
I'll set you up a webpage with a paypal shopping cart for all your Tahiti donations, for only a 25% Referral Fee of the donations! That's pretty standard real estate referral fees, right!
Hey come on, I need a vacation TOO!!! I'm willing to have 75% less fun on mine, seems fair :)
Russ - No! :-)
I have to return some support calls and get some dinner, but will be back in a bit to answer and address some more of these comments I've missed responding to here...
I also have to go see if I can find those sandals I brought back from Mexico, I think they'll work well in Tahiti too! I May need to swing by the tanning booth real quick too... :-)))
What a wonderful improvement! Thank you!
I don't mind re-blogging generally, but it was frustrating not being able to know IF you were re-blogged and by whom.
Thanks again!
Cool. I'll try it if I can find it on my blog. Lots of information from all you bloggers. Have a great Friday the 13th night! Catherine Kierzek, Re/Max Realty 100-Milwaukee
I'm still trying to set up my outside blog. The reblog thing will have to wait, but now I know what to do! Thanks.
Brad, i heard flying from solano to lancaster pa and then to tahiti gives you a great discount. NOt sure if the source is credible though :(
Brad, I like your new reblogger icon and the fact that you get to know who has reblogged you. Fantastic
Have not tried reblogging, thought that it would probably go away one of these days....maybe I should rethink. Great informative post. You always do such an excellent job of keeping everyone up to date on what's going on.
Brad - I just noticed this. I like this better than the previous version :) ~Rita
Brad, My re-blog is also disabled. Could you add me to the list? Preferably BEFORE you head to Tahiti--btw, there is a week time limit on that, right? :)
Another improved feature by the AR team. Keep it up!
Brad - The re-blog facelift looks good. I like that active rain is always looking for ways to improve.
Brad,
I like the look of the new widget. Saw it this morning but found out about it through a reblog of this post, so it's working. :)
Steve
The new graphic looks cool. It will be interesting to see if reblogged posts get points for the original author.
This is a great improvement! Kudos to you guys always figuring out ways to deliver a better product. Thanks for sharing this.
Brad - Excellent. I am not a big fan of reblogging (yeah, wrote a post about it) but knowing WHO has reblogged is a huge plus in my book. "Bout time. And I like the new and smaller graphic.
Jeff
I like the fact that you can finally see who is reblogging your posts. Great addition.
Brad,
Very sleek and clean graphic! I really like the idea of being able to see who reblogged your post as well, just another example of the continued improvements that AR is making on a regular basis. Take care and happy blogging to you!
Oh my Brad... Once again.. you are Rocking ! This is great.. love the new Re-Blog buttons.
BTW.. Sorry I missed your returned call this afternoon... Got slammed ! Try again tomorrow ??
Brad- I love that new little green fellow, just in time for the Leprechauns!
I see the little circles under the button. Is there a limit to how many times a post can be reblogged?
I'm sooooooooo glad to get rid of the big re-blog button. It did mess up the formatting of posts. Thanks to the Programmers That Be.
Very nice. it is a good idea to make things over now and then kind of freshen them up.
Some people don't like reblogging and some won't allow their posts to be reblogged. Unless it's something sensitive, I always allow reblogging. I think it's a huge compliment.
Nice addition. I usually know something has been reblogged when it comes up in a Google Alert because it has my name. This will be so much easier !!
Oops--pressed submit too soon. I think reblogging is a great way to add value to your blog with posts you WISH you wrote (really good ones) and also posts in areas you're not an expert in. The public is looking for well rounded blogs, not just ones with straight listings.
Carole - I have heard just a couple people say this but I can't seem to be able to replicate this. Can you send me a screen shot of what you are seeing and where you are seeing it? I have tried every browser and every page. I do know that you can't reblog your own posts, is this where you are seeing the disable? While you are logged into AR, if you hover your mouse over YOUR reblog button, it should only show one thing, how many agents reblogged your post, and when you click on the little green dots, it opens a window with links to those agents posts.
If your reblog button is green, then it has not been reblogged by anyone, if it is grey, there will be green dots below meaning it has been reblogged. I have never seen this "disable" popup, so I'd like your help if you don't mind. Also, what browser and version of browser are you using? Thanks for your help, we'll get it corrected if it's something on our end. :-)
Great updated feature. Very functional!
Cool! Are you taking everyone who comments with you?
Brad... I love the new change... it's easier to see. And I agree, being reblogged is an awesome compliment. I also like that you can click onto the green dots and that it will take you to the other reblogged post.
My question to you and AR... I have noticed that if your blog is reblogged, that you don't get the 25 points as once done before. I spoke to Bob S. about this around x-mas time and he said there was a bug, that is being worked on. Well, I guess we still have bugs on AR? lol Because I have had many reblogged and still never received anything. I think that you should get 25 pts if your blog is reblogged, because as you mentioned, it does say something & is a compliment. And I know the rule was that you would only get 25 pts up to 10 reblogs a week. Again, just curious if you guys are still working on this. thanks
Hi brad, I never turned my re-blog button on fearing if I did so and no one wanted to re blog my writings, then I would have to live with the hard news that I didn't write anything worth re-blogging, LOL. I suppose I did wite something worthwhile somewhere along the line. Just kidding actually ( though there is always some truth in humor, right?)
Am I the only one not getting that extra Google Juice that re-blogging provides?
I wasn't sure that reblogging was for me until I read your post and these comments. Thanks for the update!
Hey Brad,
Great update!
For future updates how about a system of user suggestions that can then be voted on. A/R could focus on implementing the top voted for suggestions:)
I had no idea what that button did. I thought people could take the information and write their own blog using what you wrote. I owe someone a "thank you" for a reblog they told me they were doing. I didn't know it was a compliment. Thank you so much!
I like the new button. I always thought the old grey one was just too big. Watch out Tahiti...here comes Brad!
Thanks.....I think. As I have only one re blog, I now depressed and will go to my room.......
Drew - check this out!
http://activerain.com/blogsview/685076/The-ActiveRain-Suggestion-Box/
It's also located right on my sidebar over here ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------>
I see the same problem that alot of other people seem to be having. My reblog button isn't green on any of my blogs even though the reblog feature is enabled when I wrote the post (I checked by editing a couple). Is this something you guys are working on?
Heather - this one has me stumped. I Got the tech crew investigating, the only thing I can think is that you are trying to reblog your own post? I don't think this is the case but there are 4 or 5 others having the same issue. Seems to be working for everyone else just fine. I even tried to break it so I could see this "disabled" button members are referring to, but I just can't make it happen.
We'll have to wait and see what they have to say on Monday morning. Were you able to reblog this post? More importantly, did you get the chance to reblog the one at the bottom of this post?? lol~ Thanks for letting me know Heather. :-)
Hi Brad! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I noticed yesterday that the button had gone green and the best part IS that the button doesn't displace my graphic/photo that I always put in the right top corner! (That used to annoy the dickens out of me). LOL
Also, you remember that I used to beg you guys to give me the option back to see who re-blogged a post and this is going WAY above and beyond what I had in mind! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
You guys ROCK!
love the updated re-blogg it is so very cool - and i agree - its a great compliment! thank you!
love the updated re-blogg it is so very cool - and i agree - its a great compliment! thank you!
Hey Debe - I thought you might like this announcement, at least you know we're listening!
I really like it myself, now I have to go see who reblogged this and try to get around to thanking all of them..............from Tahiti! :-))))
Jeff - you must be in the mortgage business... you're always talking about points!! lol~
See comment #49, I don't want to type all that again. I am so glad we added comment numbers, what a time saving improvement.
Now Go ReBlog me, and see how many points you get.... or help me get to Tahiti!! (Big Smile)
Brad, My reblog buttons are gray but have no dots under them. Is this a bug?
Lora - could it be your browser? Are you running an old version of Internet Explorer? If it's grey, that normally means that your post has been reblogged by another member, but if there are no dots, and it's not your browser, then yes, it could be a bug. I'll make sure that tech support checks it out on Monday. :-) If it is your browser, please come back and let me know. Thanks.
Thanks for the update. I thought the only way you would know if your post was reblogged is when you saw 25 points and if you received an email from the person asking if they could reblog.
Now if only you could work on redesigning the Rainmaker badge... That still looks like an old Christmas wreathe you hung on a doorknob till you put it away!
Thanks again Brad for the great info...btw, I did reblog this post.
MarkD
Brad, This is one of the reasons I like AR so much. The company listens to us and uses comments to improve the product. Bravo...
Brad ... thanks to you and our tech gurus we are never bored...and I mean this in a good way, of course...The new icons look very appealing and professional...thanks again for adding value to the rain...
With smiles,
Bo
I want to thank you for clarifying the re-blog option! Very useful info :)
Brad, This is one of the reasons I like AR so much. The company listens to us and uses comments to improve the product. Bravo...
Paul - Activerain has many activevoices, we have to have activeears! :-)
Katerina - no limit to how many times your Blog can be reblogged, but you can only reblog another members post one time. You can't reblog a post you've already reblogged in the past. :-)
REBLOG UPDATE -
The disable popup some of you are reporting is only visible to you, it's only in Internet Explorer, and it just means you can't reblog your own Blog posts. It's no bugs, no hits, and no errors here in the bottom of the ninth... :-)
Hey Brad...Thanks for letting us know about the re-blog changes! I'm so excited, I just sent you an e-mail about this last week and all the changes I requested have been made!! The new icon looks great and I'm happy I can know who re-blogs my posts.
Thanks and have a great day,
Anne Rains
Hey Brad all my buttons are grey and a few have a green dot or two underneath, but it doesn't tell me who reblogged, just says 1 agent reblogged or in one case it says 2 agents reblogged but only names one of them.
Brad my two vflyer posts I did on 2/7 have a dot but say "posted by 1 agent" no name, and my post on 2/5 says it was posted by two agents, but both dots say the same thing, Randy Randolph, when I click on them. Love the new button btw!!
Sandy - you have to click on the "green dot" to get a link to the member that reblogged your posts. I just tried on yours and it worked fine. Try again dear and let me know. Thanks. :-)
Sandy - he can't reblog you twice, that's weird...
I know!!!! Maybe it's just a glitch..... :)
Anne - thanks for your patience, at least you now know we're listening. :-) Glad you like the new reblog improvement.
I love it! Much cleaner and easier. Smaller too. Thanks for another cool updated feature:)
Hi Brad, I had wondered about reblogging. Will give it another look.
Brad, I think this is an excellent addition to the AR repertoire, I really like the additional information of who did it.
Brad - Have you looked in to mine? It says it has been re-bloged by one person yet it doesn't give a link to that other person, so I have no idea who re-blogged it or what they said.
Todd - I did check your Blog logged in as you, and you don't have a reblogged post, at least not in the last 20 or so, send me a link to the post you're referring to, and I'll check it out for you. Send it to my email. Thanks.
Am I doing something wrong? If I Re-Blogs someones post to my outside blogs I get an error message when I as a reader try to go back to the original blog.
You said "You can also ReBlog members posts to appear on your Outside ActiveBlogs. No other Network offers a tool like this, ActiveRain continues to be on the cutting edge of social networking and technology."
example.
Re-Blog about trees - ActiveRain link to Vivian's blog within the Re-Blogged post works fine...
Re-Blog about trees on my Worthington Blog - (Outside ActiveRain blog) the link to Vivian's post shows error message
The page you were looking for doesn't exist.
Yes it does!!!!
Maureen - the reblog to outside blogs works fine according to the links you've provided here. Not quite sure what to tell you except that if you're having any difficulty with this, you might want to consider sending in a ticket to support@activerain.com. If it's a technical issue, your ticket would be routed to the appropriate person who can answer and correct this for you.
I'll forward your comment to tech support and see if they can figure out why the Via link on your outside Blog is not working. I just tried some other reblogged posts on outside blogs and their links are working fine. I THINK YOU BROKE IT!! :-))
The error in my comment is to Vivian's link in the post on one of my Outside blogs.
http://www.worthingtonoldandnews.com/blogsview/1014132/Thinking-of-Brightening-Up-Your-Curb-Appeal-Look-to-the-Trees-First
If I click on her link within that post. The link that is created by Re-Blogging I see:
Or am I seeing things?
I am not putting in that address. It is the address generated by the Re-Blog.
I have done a ticket. I got no response. I noticed the post that all the tickets had been resolved.
Maureen - comment #150 - please read paragraph #2.
Forwarding it to tech support is the best I can do for you right now, I can't personally fix it as I am not a programmer or AR developer. Did you have something else in mind? BTW - go easy on our ticket guy Jeremy, we'd like to keep him around, he's doing a great job in a difficult and busy department.
Thanks.
Gee I read paragrah 2 before I responded. Sorry to make it seem as if I am asking you to do something that is NOT your job. Or saying that anyone is not doing their job. I would like the links to work on my Outside blog.
You responded to my comment.
"the reblog to outside blogs works fine according to the links you've provided here. " (emphasis added)
I see something that says there is an error, according to the links I provided here. error message (emphasis added, second link in paragraph five, comment # 149.)
Just trying to clarify that either I am seeing something different than you or I am doing something wrong. Thanks.
I think it's pretty clear there is a problem with the link in your particular reblogged post, although it's the first I have seen. It's still better left to be corrected by those who have the ability and expertise. It's not a matter of whose job it is or how it gets done, as long as it gets done.
You said:
"Just trying to clarify that either I am seeing something different than you or I am doing something wrong. Thanks."
I think that's pretty clear. If I didn't see the same thing, it wouldn't make much sense forwarding your comment to tech support to have them check it out now would it? Try being patient for a bit till they get a chance to review and correct it. Thanks.
Maureen - I just heard back from the AR tech support team in an email response. They said, "Thanks for the report; we'll have a fix out in the next few days." Thanks for being patient and for bringing this to our attention.

Are you Pat Reece in Whittier CA? If so you have a profile. I sent an email via AR.
Pat - just go to Activerain.com, click on the login link in the upper right corner, then enter your user name and password. Here's a link to your AR Profile. http://activerain.com/patreece4 If you have forgotten your password, just let me know and I can reset it for you.
Call me or email me if you need any assistance. You can click on my name below to get to my profile page. Thanks.
Thanks Maureen for jumping in to help out, it's been a crazy busy day in the rain... :-)
Hey Brad, I do have a question. I went to reblog a great post and I wanted to put the blog in 2 different groups that I thought would give it more exposure but I didn't see the where I could that.
Did I overlook something or this not possible at this time? Thanks in advance.
Cyn
Hi Cynthia - You can add it to different groups once you've re-blogged it. You'll have to go in and edit your reblog to select different groups you want to share with. Hope that helps. :-)
Hi Brad, you explained it perfectly. It was the editing process that initially threw me off. Thank you!
Brad, Nicely done. Very helpful.
Wow just did my first Reblog as a test ! waiting to see if it goes out to FB.
So I've searched and searched and I cannot locate the reblog button. Do I need more points to see it? I'm feeling left out! :)
This user has not entered anything in their blog yet.
Hi Michelle - you also need to make sure you have the "Allow Reblogs" box checked on your "settings" link. I'll go check it out real quick...
Michelle- the box was not checked, all fixed now. :-)
Thank you, but where would the button be? I still am not able to find it.
Michelle: If you are not a Rainmaker, you do not have the option to Re-blog--members only posts are not eligible for re-blogging and I believe that could be the reason you don't see the button.
When you become a Rainmaker, here's what you'll see:
As you can see, it's located just beside the post title.
Also, from a Rainmaker account, you will see this when it's a members only post--notice that there is no option to Re-Blog Members Only posts:
Hope this helps! If you need assistance becoming a Rainmaker, Brad or I or any other AR Ambassador would be happy to help get you signed up!
Last night I was thinking it was the non Rainmaker thing but non RainMakers can Re-Blog.. a public post can't they? Their content is Members Only.
Confused now. I was wondering if it is a browser issue.
Nice change. I'm always flattered when one of my posts gets reblogged.
Thanks Debe! I guess I'll have to become a Rainmaker at some point. :)
Hi Michelle! Believe me when I say, you WON'T be disappointed! When you join, you can participate in the 'ActiveRain University' classes that will help you soar to the top in your area. I receive calls from folks who find me on AR all of the time--if they haven't found me on ActiveRain, they've gotten here by way of a link on another one of my sites and some have read for several months. It's the best $$ I ever spent in marketing PLUS, it's a great place to meet others and have a great time!
Try it, you'll like it! :-)
Michelle - Debe's right, listen to her. She's a fantastic Ambassador here and would never steer you or anyone wrong!
Thx Debe! :-))
Questions about Re-Blog:
Kerrie said we should check this is not my content but I have permission to use it when Re-Blogging. Really? Take the Kersplat on all Re-Blogs? I thought the Re-Blog mechanism already took care of saying, this is not my content, this is who wrote it, here's a link to the original. Re-Blogger in most cases also writing a little blurb about who wrote it, that it is NOT original.
In Bob Willis's featured post about Localism... a question came up. Can Re-Blogged content be posted to Localism?
If Member A writes a post, posts it to Localism, Member B ( in the same market and is lets say a real estate agent, and member A was a home stager...) and Re-Blogs it, goes in and Checks Localism. Is it going to show up on Localism?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Maureen - great question, I had to go test it to find out.
It's not necessary to check the box "this is not my content...." when reblogging another members post. You are correct, that is all covered by the authoring member allowing their posts to be reblogged. A reblogged post can be added to your outside Blog, but after trying to add a reblogged post just now to my Localism, it did not show up on my Localism profile. So the answer would be no, reblogs to the best of my knowledge and experience can not be posted to Localism. I hope that helps answer your question.
If it does end up showing on my Localism from a delay in the auto-population process, I'll be sure to come back and let you know. Thanks. :-))
Hey guys! I must say Brad is correct when he told me I'd learn something new everyday! It is not necessary to check the "this is not my content..." when reblogging. I apologize for the misinformation and I promise to never forget this one! :)
thanks guys! and I mean guy and girl.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank You. I am so relieved we don't have to take a kersplat (yellow dot with a red X)
Hi Kerrie! Chances are you'll learn WAY more than ONE thing each day too!! Hope you're well and gearing up for the Mile High City! I know they're going to love you guys there too!
